The internationally-renowned ‘2014 International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care’, which is organised by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) takes place today and tomorrow in Chicago.

The event brings together a range of professionals and stakeholders from the healthcare community to discuss the latest research and best practice in human factors.

The event attracts over 400 people each year and is split into four major streams:

  • Healthcare provider and patient safety
  • Clinical and consumer healthcare information technology
  • Medical and drug-delivery devices
  • Clinical care settings

Team’s Director of Human Factors, Julian Dixon, is chairing today’s session on medical and drug delivery devices.

Speaking ahead of the event Julian said: “It was a great honour to be invited by Tony Andre to join this year’s event alongside Beth Loring in a chairing role. The event is a staple of the Human Factors calendar and I’m really looking forward to hearing from our peers in the industry, as well as catching up with some old friends”.
